Officials in Reno are relying on the transformative properties of The Portland Loo to help address an issue of increasing human waste along the local Truckee River and Pyramid Lake.
Local agencies recorded higher levels of E. coli, and human waste has been identified as a likely and avoidable contributor.
The Portland Loo offers a solution to this problem by giving the area’s homeless population a suitable and dignified area to do their business.
